So DC's attempt to enter the shared cinematic universe like their counterpart Marvel Studio is looking promising. Again to have an origin story cramped in a 2 hours movie will definitely has it drawbacks and Aquaman is no exception. DC's attempt to make the movie a bit less darker like it's previous movies like Man of Steel and Batman Vs Superman is something we need to give credits to.
I think Wonder Woman and Justice League started to lighten up a bit with some humor in between scenes but I must admit that there are some scene in Aquaman that got me like 'huh?'. Some scene are so cliche and predictable and some are just cringy.
Overall the CGI was great though some might appeared a bit cartoonish but I think it is still great. The fight scenes and all the sea creatures are all so beautiful. Definitely a better DC movie in the DCEU so far and I'm looking forward for Shazam and Wonder Woman 1984. Aquaman is a 4/5 stars.
P/S: Black Manta was merely an introductory character this time. Perhaps he will be more agressive in the sequel.
