Can we talk about how gorgeous Yvie's headpiece is? Goddamn she is a whole other level of drag and I'm happy that she won the crown! Firstly I'm happy with the sufficient amount of reveals in this year's lip sync smack down. Unlike season 10 where you can actually see the reveals are coming. Yvie did little to no reveal at all and she only rely on her odd self and sickening look!
I'm also in love with this season's lip sync songs. Brooke and Silky started the battle with Bootylicious by Destiny's Child and in round two, Yvie and A'keria battled it out with S.O.S by Rihanna. I think this format is way better than just a original song lip sync performance by the queens in the previous seasons (Season 8 and below).
The final lip sync battle was between Brooke and Yvie with song by Lady Gaga, The Edge Of Glory! The last time we saw a queen lip sync in a gown was Sasha from season 9. This further proves that reveals are not really an important factor to make you win a lip sync.
I'm happy for Yvie because she really represents the major part of art in drag and not just a guy who wants to look pretty in woman's clothes. Her drag is theater! Her drag s drama! Her drag is Odd! I love this type of drag and just like Sasha, this is the type of drag I would be doing if I have the Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent!
Condragulations Miss Yvie Oddly and hopefully you'll inspire more artsy drag queens to step into the big picture and take center stage alongside with the pretty queens! Also Condragulations to Miss Nina West for winning Miss Congeniality! You deserve it!
