We live life at our own pace and there is no need for us to rush things, right? Because I believe in "if it is meant to be, it will be" but that doesn't mean we don't need to work for the things that we want. What I really mean here is there's no such thing as 'too late' or 'too early'. I've read so many articles on how people celebrate the success of young people. It is a good thing to inspire the young to actually do something useful with their life but what about those people who achieved great things later in their life? Isn’t their success worth the share just because they achieved it at an older age?
Things like this that what makes people start to compare themselves with others because the mass only celebrate the achievements of the young people. This pressure the young to live a certain life and achieved certain goals at a certain age. Not that it is a bad thing all the way but we need to know that not all of us live the same life and get the same opportunities. Most of the success stories shared by the mass nowadays are how privileged kids get to start their own business. Become a billionaire at the age of 21? Self-made billionaire? I mean will she be able to do that if she wasn’t part of a multi-millionaire family? It’s not like I’m trying to deny the fact that she did built herself with the resources she has but how does that make other girls her age feel? How are they going to live up to that? Should that be a new standard for 21 years old teen everywhere? To be a billionaire at 21?
I think now it is the time for us to glorify all success stories no matter how big or small. Let’s try to shine some light on people who made their first million at 60s or graduated with PHD at 70s. Most of these people have been living a rough life when they were young and only now that they got the time to finally focus on themselves. These selfless people are the one who should be sharing their success stories to the masses. This will not only inspire but also give hopes to majority of people that success can come later in life.
I personally only able to do lots of things later in life. I mean I can only talk in front of a crowd in late 20s while some already be giving talk at the age of 19. We grow and mature differently so I believe that every success is a success worth celebrating no matter how big or small. Let’s congratulate and celebrate anyone who made it in life earlier or later in life.
P/S: I know I’m ready when I’m ready.
