Foodgasm: Frozen Candied Grapes

Ah, TikTok! The birthplace of every new food trend. And this time, it’s the Frozen Candied Grapes that everyone’s raving about. As usual, it was Feyy who discovered it first (he’s basically my unofficial food trend scout) and showed it to me. Of course, I had to try it too, I mean, they look so pretty. Bright, colourful, glossy little gems that make you want to grab a handful immediately.
On the nutrition board, though, these two ingredients couldn’t be more different. On one side, you’ve got the healthy, naturally sweet grapes, and on the other, pure sugary candy coating, the total opposite. But being a little FOMO, we decided to give it a go.
Trying It for the First Time
While I was covering the AirAsia Hausboom event, one of the food vendors happened to sell it, so it was the perfect opportunity. RM25 for a cup of Frozen Candied Grapes? Not cheap, but hey, it’s for the experience.
Taste-wise? It’s basically hard candy with a juicy surprise inside. Sweet, crunchy, and cold. Visually beautiful, but let’s be real, it’s a struggle to eat. Frozen candy is not kind to your teeth, and after a few bites, I began to question my life choices. It’s fun to try, but definitely not something I’d have often.
My Verdict
It’s good for TikTok, good for photos, and good for the “I’ve tried it” bragging rights. But health-wise? Definitely not a regular treat. Maybe once a month… or once in a lifetime.
So yeah, I’m glad I tried it, but I probably won’t be buying it again, not because it’s bad, but because my teeth and sugar levels deserve better.
