I think we all knew this sequel had big shoes to fill. The first Zootopia was such a treat — fun, clever, heartfelt — so of course I was excited when the second movie was announced. Honestly, this is one Disney franchise I wouldn’t mind seeing go on forever. There’s just so much the animal kingdom can offer, and the way they present it in this universe? It’s endlessly entertaining.
Now, about Zootopia 2 itself. I can confidently say this is probably the best Disney animated movie released this year, and it might even slide into my top five of all time. The storyline is smart, layered, and if you pay attention, it mirrors a lot of what’s happening in the real world. The lynx pushing reptiles out of their land? Yeah… that hits close to home in more ways than one.
The comedy is top-tier and the easter eggs? Chef’s kiss. This is what I love about the Zootopia universe — the attention to detail, the references, the tiny jokes that reward you for paying attention. All in all, this movie is a solid 10/10 for me. It’s that good. And with that end credit scene? Okay, Zootopia 3 is definitely coming sooner than we think.
But before I end this… I still have one big question. How exactly do these animals eat? I saw the Marsh Market scene where the water animals were eating fish, but what about the carnivores on land? Has this ever been addressed? Maybe I missed it, but it’s the kind of world-building question that stays stuck in my head.
Anyway — what do you think about the movie?
