More than two decades after Freaky Friday became a beloved family classic, Freakier Friday brings back the magic this time with double the body swaps and double the chaos. The story centers on love, family, and understanding each other’s perspectives, with a fresh mix of old and new faces that will make fans of the original feel right at home.
This movie is exactly what you’d expect from a Freaky Friday sequel, lighthearted, funny, and heartwarming. It’s one of those feel-good films you can rewatch anytime, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it becomes a classic for a new generation. The big change this time? Instead of just two people switching bodies, four characters are caught in the swap. While Anna and Harper’s swap feels natural and drives a lot of the emotional beats, Lily and Tess’s exchange doesn’t quite pack the same punch until the film’s finale.
The humor lands well, the family drama is touching, and the throwbacks to the original movie are sure to spark nostalgia. Seeing familiar cast members return alongside charming new additions was a real highlight. That said, a few scenes felt a little forced, but not enough to ruin the fun.
If you’re looking for a wholesome movie night with laughs, drama, and a touch of chaos, this one delivers. I’m giving Freakier Friday a 7/10 for its sheer entertainment value and nostalgic charm.
