My First Vlog?

My First Vlog?
Well... sort of.
If you've been following my blog for a while, you probably know that I've always wanted to vlog. In fact, this blog post title, *"My First Vlog?"*, has been sitting in my drafts for almost two years now.

Two years.
That's how long I've been telling myself that one day I'll finally start vlogging.
And I think that day has finally come.
Kind of.
Recently, I uploaded a snippets-and-compilation-style video from my trip to Singapore last year for Lady Gaga's Mayhem Singapura concert. Is it a full-blown vlog? Not really. There wasn't a dramatic intro, fancy transitions, or a detailed narration of my entire day.
But it was a video.
A video that documented a memory.
And honestly, I think that's a pretty good start.
Why Did It Take Me So Long?
To be honest, I don't think I was ever scared of being on camera.
I think my biggest problem is that I'm always too busy living in the moment.
Whenever I'm travelling, attending a concert, hanging out with friends, or experiencing something exciting, my brain is usually focused on enjoying it rather than documenting it.
Half the time, I forget to press record.
The other half, I do record something but never get around to editing it.
Before I know it, weeks have passed.
Then months.
And eventually, the footage just sits there in my phone gallery like a forgotten time capsule.
Starting Small
Recently, I've been trying a different approach.
Instead of waiting for a grand adventure or a perfect vlog-worthy moment, I've started filming the simple things.
Getting ready for work.
My daily commute.
A dinner outing.
A random walk around town.
Nothing groundbreaking.
Nothing cinematic.
Just life.
And I think that's what makes it special.
Because if I'm being honest, most of our lives aren't made up of grand moments anyway. They're made up of ordinary days that somehow become memories when we look back years later.
Progress Over Perfection
I think that's the lesson I've been learning lately.
Sometimes we spend so much time waiting for the perfect opportunity that we never actually start.
I kept telling myself I'd vlog when I had better equipment.
I'd vlog when I had more time.
I'd vlog when I learned better editing techniques.
But what if the secret is simply to start?
Not perfectly.
Just start.
Because momentum comes from action, not planning.
And maybe filming a few clips here and there is exactly what I need to build that momentum.
The Beginning of Something?
Will I become a full-time vlogger?
Probably not.
Will I start carrying a camera everywhere I go?
Maybe.
Will there be more videos?
I certainly hope so.
Because for the first time in a long time, creating videos feels fun instead of intimidating.
And who knows?
Maybe one day I'll look back at that Lady Gaga Singapore video and laugh because that tiny compilation was actually the start of something bigger.
For now, though, I'm just happy I finally started.
Two years later is still better than never.

They're not perfect.
But they're mine.
And that's enough for now.
