Throwback Thursday: My Days With 11Street

If you were an avid online shopper back in the early 2010s, you probably remember an e-commerce platform called 11Street. Yes, the one with Lee Min Ho as their ambassador and the main sponsor for Akademi Fantasia once upon a time.
11Street was actually my second full-time job after graduating. The pay wasn’t much, but I honestly loved the vibe there. It’s also the place where I met one of my best friends to this day. I was part of the content moderation team, where I had to go through about 10,000 SKUs a day. It wasn’t particularly difficult or time-consuming, but it was definitely mundane. Luckily, having a friend by my side made all the difference, we kept each other sane in the sea of product listings.
What made 11Street special wasn’t the work itself, but the people I met. I crossed paths with a few interesting colleagues, including someone who later became my boss in another chapter of my career. And then there’s Erry, the one who used to give me side-eye before we actually became friends. We ended up becoming this unexpected duo that no one asked for, and yes, we did stir up a little drama here and there. But that’s the kind of thing you look back on with a smile and a laugh.
Sadly, 11Street is no longer around. But most of the people who were there have gone on to do amazing things, and I’m just glad I got to be part of that little slice of history.
