Throwback : The Fame Era

Celebrating the month of Lady Gaga, I will dedicate today's throwback post to one of the most successful pop album in history. The Fame by Lady Gaga is her debut album and was released on August 19, 2008. The album showcases the musical influences from the 1980's. The Fame tells the story about Lady Gaga's views or ideas on fame that pretty much involves love, money, drugs and sex. The first single from The Fame is Just Dance and was release on June 17, 2008. Just Dance reached top 10 in 6 countries and it just the start.

The Fame's second single Poker Face is one of the most successful single from Lady Gaga and also one of the most iconic song in the 2000's. It also won The Grammy for best dance recording. Poker Face continues to break records by being the most downloaded song in UK. Poker Face really catapulted Lady Gaga's career into a new height.

Eh, Eh (Nothing else I can say) is The Fame's third single but it didn't do quite well as previous singles but Lady Gaga redeemed herself and The Fame with LoveGame. LoveGame is the fourth single and the disco tune quickly became a hit in clubs with catchy and memorable hook ' I wanna take a ride on your disco stick'.

The Fame's fifth and last single is Paparazzi. It reached top 10 in the US and the iconic mini movie music video really put the song out there. There are a total of 14 tracks in the album and for me personally, Lady Gaga already showcased her talent and vocal ability in The Fame with song like Brown Eyes. Let's see what are my favorite things about The Fame.

Favorite Single: Poker Face

Favorite Song: Summerboy

Favorite Music Video: Paparazzi

The Fame will always be one of the iconic and game changing pop album in the 2000's. Lady Gaga really put the benchmark that made other pop singers to up their game and create catchy pop songs that we get to listen now. I love how committed Lady Gaga is when she is promoting her album, I mean if you see her fashion during interviews, you will know right away which era was that interview was from. I love her performance on Oprah and SNL. She was so young when she started and for her to achieve such huge success is an inspiration to all. All hail Mother Monster!
