Usually it's just my close friends who have been asking me about the products that I'm using for my skincare. No one else ever asked me about it but I just want to share. Most probably because the stuff that I've using are cheap and you can get them at the drugstore. Another reason I want to share is because I feel like my skin doesn't have any serious issues other than the fine lines because I'm getting old. So basically what I've sharing is just how to maintain if you already have nice skin. Now let's see the products that I've been using for quite sometimes. I usually rotate the brands that I'm using but I always go for the same type, meaning I'll be using anti acne cleanser but I'll rotate the brands from Safi to Aiken and so so.
1) Mask & Scrub
I've been using this 2 in 1 scrub from Freeman for almost a year now and I'm loving the result and how soft it is on my skin compared to St Ives. My favorite scrub from Freeman is this Charcoal + Black Sugar. This is my 3rd tube and I'll scrub my face twice a week. After scrubbing, I'll leave it for about 5-7 minutes as suggested. I can instantly feel my skin more soft and supple after using it.
2) Cleansers
Yes I'm using 2 different cleansers one in the morning and another one at night. I got my own reason and I'm not sure if it's legit but I Iove to think it is. The one I'm using in the morning is from Bio essence Bird's Nest Collagen Cleanser. I've been obsessed with anti-aging product since I was 20 years old. As I said earlier, I'll rotate the brand that I'm using and previously I was using Safi Rania Gold cleanser. So far my friend told me that my skin is getting fairer and I think it is doing it's job perfectly.
For night time, I'll cleanse my face with anti-acne or oil control cleanser. Currently I'm using Safi Acne Control and other brands I've been using previously were Aiken and Cosmoderm Tea Tree Oil Cleanser. I'm just trying to get rid of the excessive oil on my face after a long day outside.
What I love about this cleanser is that it doesn't makes my skin feels dry after washing.
3) Toner
After I've cleansed my face and towel dry it (remember not to use the same towel on your face with the towel you're using to dry your whole body), I'll apply some toner and currently I'm using this toner from Son & Park called Beauty Water. I love the texture of this toner because it doesn't feel oily like some toner does and I love how soft it feels on my skin. I've been using this for almost a month now and I'm loving what it does to my skin. For me, I feel like my skin is getting more clear as in no dirt or whatever. I'll apply this beauty water by putting a few drops into a facial cotton pad and wipe my face and neck with it. Previously, I used Safi Aloe Vera toner and it doesn't feel as smooth but it does the job.
4) Eye Cream
I must admit that even-though I've claimed to be an anti-aging product enthusiast, I just started to use eye cream this year. I know I'm sorry but I should've know better because apart from your neck, your eyes area are the most likely to have fine lines and wrinkles. So for start, I'm using this eye contour cream from Safi Rania Gold series and so far I can see the fine lines disappear but my eye bags are still there. Not sure if the eye cream can help with my eye bags though. I'll apply a thin line of this eye cream under my eyes and tap it until it absorb entirely.
5) Acne Gel/Cream
I'll only use this if I feel like there's going to be zit coming out on any part of my face. You can actually detect this while you were cleansing your face and usually can feel some bumps here and there and I assume it's an up and coming zit so I'll apply some acne gel on it to stop the growth. Currently I'm using Tidact and also Safi Acne Solution Instant Spot Corrector. Tidact gel was actually prescribed by a doctor because I used to have this disastrous breakout 5 years ago.
This Safi Acne Solution Instant Spot Corrector is actually very good! I've noticed that my acne scars are gone in just one week of using this product. I'm not sure if it will work on you but it did worked on mine.
It's cheap so no harm in giving it a try right?
6) Essences
I'm using two different essence as of now because why not? Currently I'm using L'Oreal Centella Essence Water and at first I don't really like the texture because it was quite sticky but I'm already used to it now and I believe it does have a long term benefits on my skin. I'll have 5 drops on my palm and pat it on your face and neck.
Next I'm using this Lifting and Firming Essence from Hada Labo. This is also my first time using it because previously I was using Safi Rania Gold Elixir. I'm okay with the texture and I also put about 5 drops on my palm and pat it on my face and neck. Honestly, I can already feel my skin is more firm now after almost a month of using it.
7) Moisturizers
Yes just like my cleansers, I also have two moisturizers that I'm using at the same time. One during the day and one at night. I'm using Safi Gamat moisturizer during the day for God knows what reason but I decided I want to do it that way.
Some people can't use this moisturizer because they will have clumps and the moisturizer didn't really absorb by the skin. I don't but it works for me. At night, I'm using this Safi Acne Control Gel Moisturizer because why not? It's my face I can do whatever I want right? I believe mainly because the gel is cooler and night and it help me to sleep better. Good sleep equals good skin no?
Plus it helps to fight acne too. So it's like killing two birds with one stone!
8) Sun Screens
Call me extra I don't care, but I love to separate my day skincare routine with my night skincare routine (dam I should've split this entry into two instead). So I have two sun screens also! During the day or if I'm travelling via public transport, I'll use this Nature Republic Ice Sun Screen.
It feels so light on your skin and you didn't realize you were wearing it until you wash your face. I'll use this one if I'll be outside more that staying inside.
I'll use Aiken Face & Body day lotion if I'm at the office or if I'm going to be indoor more like going to the mall or what not. This one will actually leaves a white residue if you're sweating and that's why I don't really like wearing it outdoor.
9) Lip Balm
I have a very dry lips and even-though I'll be drinking a gallon of water, my lips will still find a way to look dry. So this lip balm from Watson really does the trick for me. It has this menthol and minty feel to it and what I like about it is that, it doesn't really have that obvious shine after I apply it.
So basically, those are the products that I've been using to get this skin. I know it's not a good as those Korean glass skin and what not but I can say that I have a healthy skin! I like to think that I have and hopefully I'll look 20 forever. Oh ya, don't forget to wait around 30 seconds to 1 minute before applying another product on your skin. Give some time for your skin to absorb the products first. You can also use the mini fan to speed up the process. Again, this is me thinking whatever I'm doing is legit so feel free to follow or just go to a certified dermatologist.
P/S: Sometimes I'm confused between glowing and oily skin.
