Bracket 3 has entered the chat! And if Bracket 2 gave us pure chaos and backstabbing, this new group seems… a little too calm?
Let’s meet our final six:
Ginger Minj (Season 7, AS2, AS6)
Acid Betty (Season 8)
Cynthia Lee Fontaine (Season 8 & 9)
Denali (Season 13)
Daya Betty (Season 14)
Alyssa Hunter (Season 14)
I was lowkey expecting fireworks right off the bat — I mean, you’ve got Acid and Daya in the same room — but instead, we got a spa retreat. Everyone was on their best behavior. Maybe it’s growth? Or maybe the drama’s still brewing?
The Challenge: Wicked For Good Design Duo
This week, the queens were paired up to design two runway looks inspired by the upcoming Wicked For Good movie. One look had to serve Good Witch, the other had to be Wicked Witch, and the judges? Oh, just Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo — no big deal.
Here’s how the queens paired up:
Ginger Minj & Daya Betty
Alyssa Hunter & Cynthia Lee Fontaine
Acid Betty & Denali
Of course, there was a sprinkle of tension when Alyssa tried to team up with Daya, hoping for a Season 14 rivalry redemption arc. But Daya politely declined and opted to work with Ginger instead. No yelling. No shade. Just… mutual respect? Ugh. Who are these queens and what did they do to my Drag Race?
The Runway + The Backstory Twist
This wasn't just a design challenge — the pairs had to create a whole storyline behind their witch characters.
And listen, Acid Betty and Denali really ate this part. Their Fire and Ice witches concept that ended in an alliance to create the best iced coffee ever? Camp. Genius. Drag.
Even Ariana was into it — and when Ariana likes something? You know it was actually good.
Still, the judges went with Ginger and Daya as the top 2 of the week. And while their looks were solid, I personally felt Acid and Denali brought the more memorable moment overall.
Lipsync: Defying Gravity (and Logic?)
Ginger and Daya had to lipsync to the Wicked classic Defying Gravity. And here’s where opinions get split.
Honestly? Daya Betty turned it. Her performance had emotion, precision, and she delivered the dramatics that song demands.
But… the win went to Ginger Minj. And not to be that girl, but this feels like production’s narrative push again. Ginger is a huge Wizard of Oz fan, and the edit loved reminding us of that. It gave “Jimbo wins because she's Jimbo” energy. It gave “Alyssa Edwards for the story” vibes. Like yes, Ginger is amazing — but when it starts feeling too engineered, it takes away the magic a bit.
The Vibe Check: Is This Bracket Too Calm?
Now that all three brackets have debuted, Bracket 3 feels… the safest. No explosions, no shade, no secret alliances. Even when there was a pairing dilemma, it was handled like a work meeting at HR. I’m still holding out hope, but if they don’t stir the pot soon, I might just skip to the semi-finals.
Let’s keep it real: drama is part of the Drag Race DNA. Fingers crossed someone throws a mic or calls someone “goopy” next week.
What’s Next?
Two more weeks left in Bracket 3 — and then we move into the semifinals with:
Bosco
Irene The Alien
Aja
Jorgeous
Lydia B. Kollins
Mistress Isabelle Brooks
And one final queen from Bracket 3 will join them. Who do you think it will be?
Are you #TeamDaya? #TeamGinger? Or maybe you're hoping Acid Betty finally brings the chaos?
Let’s manifest some drama next week. 🔮
