Bracket 3 is still on its Namaste, no drama arc… for now. But honey, the tension is bubbling. And this week gave us denim, drag, and a dash of Delusion (™).
MVQ Update: Peace, Love, and Point Sharing
Before we get to the main action, the bottom 4 queens handed out their MVQ points. And as expected, they were still holding hands and singing kumbaya in the confessionals.
Here’s where the scores landed after Week 1’s MVQ swap:
Ginger Minj – 3 pts
Daya Betty – 2 pts
Denali – 1 pt
Acid Betty – 1 pt
Cynthia Lee Fontaine – 1 pt
Alyssa Hunter – 1 pt
Yep. No strategy. No shade. Just vibes.
Mini Challenge: Clueless Realness
To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Clueless (wait, what? I feel ancient), the queens were thrown into some quick drag as Cher Horowitz and served up a messy, fabulous, 90s-style photoshoot.
Let’s talk about Daya Betty for a second. Homegirl bit a lipstick. BIT. IT. I mean, back in Season 14 she chomped down on a dragonfly and now we’ve got makeup on the menu. Someone do a wellness check. 😭
In the end, Denali took the win and a $1,000 cash tip. A serve!
Maxi Challenge: Stagecooch Country Music Festival
The queens had to break into groups and write original verses for one of two songs — “Key Your Car” or “Trailer Hitch” — to be performed at the fictional country music festival Stagecooch, produced by RuPaul (of course).
The kicker? Everyone except Cynthia wanted to do Trailer Hitch, but instead of giving us a moment of Drag Race conflict, Daya and Ginger volunteered to switch teams and do Key Your Car with Cynthia.
Like… they were too nice about it. This isn’t RuPaul’s Best Friend Race, remember?
Teams were:
Trailer Hitch: Acid Betty, Alyssa Hunter, Denali
Key Your Car: Ginger Minj, Daya Betty, Cynthia Lee Fontaine
The real highlight? Orville Peck joins the queens in the recording studio, and girl, Alyssa Hunter was THIRSTY. I mean, I get it. But she was giving full “I’m not subtle” energy, and I was entertained.
The Performances
Honestly? Everyone did a great job. I was very impressed by Alyssa and Acid especially — they gave stage presence, energy, and solid verses. I expected Acid Betty to slay this, and she did… but surprisingly, she didn’t land in the top.
Ru, make it make sense.
Runway: Night of a 1000 Miley Cyruses
On the main stage, the queens gave their best Miley impressions. And while most went with direct replicas of Miley’s iconic looks, Acid Betty did what Acid always does — took the theme and filtered it through her unapologetic, offbeat lens.
It was Miley meets Acid and honestly? It stood out. But again… no top spot.
Lipsync: “See You Again” – And Ginger’s Second Win
The top 2 of the week were Ginger Minj and Denali, and they lipsynced to the early-2000s banger “See You Again” by Miley Cyrus. And yes, I also screamed the lyrics while watching. What a throwback.
Both queens brought it, but surprise, surprise — Ginger took the win again.
Don’t get me wrong: she’s talented, polished, and funny. But… she doesn’t need this narrative boost. It’s giving favoritism. It’s giving “We’re crowning Ginger Minj this time, no matter what.” We’ve seen this edit before (Jimbo, Alyssa Edwards), and it’s getting too predictable.
Updated Leaderboard
Ginger Minj – 6 pts
Denali – 3 pts
Daya Betty – 2 pts
Acid Betty – 1 pt
Alyssa Hunter – 1 pt
Cynthia Lee Fontaine – 1 pt
Next Week: Drama on the Horizon?
Based on the preview, it looks like the Kumbaya bubble might finally burst. The tension is simmering, and it seems like Acid Betty and Daya Betty are about to start the fire.
Please let the claws come out, mama.
So what do you think, squirrels? Is Bracket 3 still too sweet, or are we about to see these queens go full showdown? Are you living for Ginger’s reign or craving a shakeup?
