We’ve made it, y’all. After nine episodes, the final week of Bracket 3 is here and All Stars 10 has officially locked in its Top 9 Semi-Finalists. But before we celebrate the merge, let’s break down the weirdest challenge yet, an anticlimactic argument, and the last MVQ point drama.
MVQ Ceremony: Cynthia’s Surprise Surge
Right off the top, we had the post-lipsync MVQ ceremony from Episode 8. And guess what? In an unexpected but kinda sweet move, all the bottom queens gave their points to Cynthia Lee Fontaine.
Daya gave hers because they were in the same performance group.
Alyssa gave hers because she thought Cynthia was the most consistent.
Acid gave hers because, well — Season 8 sisters stick together.
That brought the scoreboard to:
Ginger Minj – 6 pts
Cynthia Lee Fontaine – 4 pts
Denali – 3 pts
Daya Betty – 3 pts
Alyssa Hunter – 1 pt
Acid Betty – 1 pt
The “Drama”: Daya vs Alyssa (Kind of?)
Production tried to stir the pot this week by giving us a little tension between Daya and Alyssa over MVQ votes. Daya was under the impression that Alyssa would give her the point for being consistent — but Alyssa said, “No ma’am, Cynthia’s the consistent one.”
And listen, Alyssa wasn't wrong. But the real issue? The drama was giving low stakes. Like… I’m sorry, but nobody is gonna throw their wig across the werkroom for a MVQ misunderstanding. Yet the producers kept dragging this half-baked tension through the entire episode like it was a full-on Shangela vs Mimi moment. It wasn't.
Memo to World of Wonder: we need new writers. At this point, even the queens looked bored repeating the same confessional line four different ways.
Maxi Challenge: The Golden Bitchelor (Yep, You Read That Right)
This week’s challenge? A dog-themed dating improv challenge called The Golden Bitchelor, featuring a very buff man (hi, Zane Phillips) in a furry dog costume. Because… reasons?
The queens had to embody canine contestants fighting for Zane’s love. It was chaotic, confusing, and not in a good Drag Race way. It gave “we had to come up with something on the fly while high on LaCroix.”
Honestly, none of the performances stood out for the right reasons — but as expected, Ginger Minj turned her camp dial to 11 and walked away with another top placement. That said, Denali actually did great, and deserved her moment in the top.
In a surprise twist, Daya Betty also made it to the top and went up against Ginger in the lipsync.
Lipsync + Final MVQ Drama
The lipsync song? "Mama used to say" by Junior — and I gotta give it to Daya, she turned it out. And more importantly, she broke Ginger’s lipsync streak and secured her own spot in the semi-finals.
So now we had two queens from Bracket 3 confirmed:
Ginger Minj
Daya Betty
One more slot left — and this one came down to a 3-way MVQ trade-off:
Cynthia gave her point to Alyssa
Denali gave hers to Acid
Alyssa gave hers to Denali
That left Cynthia and Denali tied with 4 points each.
And who was the tie-breaker? None other than Acid Betty, who gave her point to her Season 8 sis Cynthia Lee Fontaine, securing Cucu’s place in the Top 9.
Final Bracket 3 Scores:
Ginger Minj – 6 pts ✅
Daya Betty – 6 pts ✅
Cynthia Lee Fontaine – 5 pts ✅
Denali – 4 pts ❌
Alyssa Hunter – 2 pts ❌
Acid Betty – 2 pts ❌
Honestly, I’m gutted that Denali didn’t make it through. She slayed the last two weeks and clearly wanted it. But this MVQ format? It’s been hit-or-miss from the start. As a viewer, it doesn’t feel like the queens’ track records matter as much as their ability to network and play Drag Race Survivor™.
The Merge Is Coming: Are You Ready?
Now that all the brackets are done, here’s your full Top 9 Semi-Finalists:
Irene The Alien
Bosco
Aja
Jorgeous
Lydia B. Kollins
Mistress Isabelle Brooks
Ginger Minj
Daya Betty
Cynthia Lee Fontaine
And from the preview? The semi-final queens look different — new wigs, new padding, and maybe a little Ozempic energy, if you know what I mean. 😏
Are you excited for the merge next week? Or are you still salty over the MVQ format like me? Either way, the tournament is about to get real.
