We're finally here! The semifinals of **RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 11** have officially begun, and the seven queens who topped their respective brackets have finally merged into one competition. But before they could even settle into the Werk Room, RuPaul had one more surprise waiting.
The Comeback Queen Returns
The hopper selected this season's Comeback Queen, giving one eliminated queen another shot at the crown.
And the lucky queen is... Joey Jay!
Honestly? This felt like the right decision.
Don't get me wrong—I was rooting hard for Crystal Methyd. Ever since Season 12, she's been one of my favorite queens, and seeing her evolve on All Stars has been an absolute joy. But Joey Jay has quietly become one of the biggest surprises of the season.
Her drag has improved tremendously, she's genuinely hilarious, and she's been consistently entertaining every time she's appeared on screen. Her return injects a fresh burst of energy into the competition, and I'm excited to see what she brings in these final episodes.
Maxi Challenge: Tell Me Something Good
This week's maxi challenge had the queens performing in a live storytelling event called "Tell Me Something Good."
The queens had to share a funny and heartfelt story while giving advice to their younger selves.
Now... I have to be honest.
I didn't really understand this challenge.
The entire format felt awkward because it never seemed clear whether the queens were supposed to be comedians or motivational speakers. Were they trying to make Ru laugh? Make her cry? Inspire her?
Even the contestants looked confused.
Personally, I think this concept would've worked much better as a traditional stand-up challenge. At least then everyone knows the assignment: make people laugh.
Because of the unclear prompt, many of the performances ended up feeling a little uncomfortable instead of entertaining.
My Standouts
For me, the queens who handled the challenge best were:
Crystal Methyd – She managed to balance humor and storytelling naturally without feeling forced.
Joey Jay – Another surprisingly strong performance. She really leaned into her personality and kept the audience engaged.
Jasmine Kennedie – She deserves a shout-out as well. I thought she brought great energy and confidence to the stage.
The rest of the queens unfortunately struggled to find the right balance, and I don't entirely blame them. The challenge itself was just... strange.
Runway: Red Carpet Realness
The runway category this week was Red Carpet Realness, and the queens definitely understood the assignment.
There wasn't a single look that completely disappointed me, but a few queens really stood out by serving glamour worthy of a Hollywood premiere.
The Results
Despite the awkward challenge, Crystal Methyd was crowned the winner of the week.
A well-deserved win in my opinion.
The Bottom Two
The anonymous votes placed two Drag Race legends in the bottom:
A'keria C. Davenport
Kennedy Davenport
Honestly...
Seeing the Davenports lip sync against each other was already emotional enough.
Then Ru announced the song:
"Nobody's Supposed to Be Here (Dance Mix)" by Deborah Cox.
It had all the ingredients for an iconic Drag Race lip sync.
Wait... Kennedy Davenport Lost?!
I genuinely couldn't believe it.
RuPaul ultimately chose to save A'keria, meaning Kennedy Davenport became the latest queen to sashay away.
What do you mean...
Kennedy Davenport lost a lip sync?
That sentence alone feels illegal.
Whether you agree with the decision or not, it definitely made for one of the biggest shocks of the season.
Final Thoughts
This episode was a mixed bag for me.
I loved seeing Joey Jay return and I thought Crystal deserved her win. The runway was solid, and the lip sync carried genuine stakes.
But the maxi challenge itself never quite landed. The storytelling prompt felt too vague, leaving many queens unsure whether to focus on comedy or emotion. A classic stand-up challenge would've been much stronger.
Still, with the semifinals officially underway and the competition getting tighter every week, I'm excited to see who will make it all the way to the finale.
So what did you think?
Did the storytelling challenge work for you, or should it have been a traditional stand-up comedy challenge? Let me know in the comments!
