The 68th Grammy Awards came and went just like that, and honestly? I walked away from the night feeling proud, emotional, and just a little bittersweet — especially as a Lady Gaga fan.
While she didn’t snatch a win in the Big 3 categories, Gaga still walked away with two Grammys, and that alone is worth celebrating. Mayhem taking home Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Dance Pop Recording for Abracadabra feels so right. That album was bold, chaotic, theatrical, and unapologetically Gaga — and seeing it get recognized made me genuinely happy.
And can we talk about her performance? Because wow. Gaga turning Abracadabra into a full-blown rock moment was everything. When I say this woman is a genius, I mean it. She’s an artist with so many facades — pop star, rockstar, performer, storyteller — and she switches between them so effortlessly. She gives range, vision, and commitment every single time. Watching her perform reminded me why her artistry has always stood out: she doesn’t just make music, she transforms it.
That’s why, if I’m being honest, it was a little upsetting that Mayhem didn’t get more flowers that night. The album really showcased how limitless Gaga is as an artist. She can tap into any genre, any sound, any era — and still make it feel undeniably hers. The possibilities with her creativity truly feel endless.
That said, congratulations are definitely in order for all the other winners, especially those who took home the Big 4 awards:
Album of the Year: Bad Bunny – Debí Tirar Más Fotos
Record of the Year: Kendrick Lamar & SZA – Luther
Song of the Year: Billie Eilish – Wildflower
Best New Artist: Olivia Dean
Overall, the night was a reminder that while awards matter, artistry lasts — and Lady Gaga continues to prove why she’s one of the most versatile and fearless artists of our time.
