This year Raya falls in early April so basically I should have already started my #METRaya2024 project which I did. Around mid-December last year, I was thinking of what to do for my Raya looks this time around and to be honest, I have no ideas! Serious take tau nak buat baju apa. Lepastu I was going through some photos and I saw this one particular photo and it clicked. That is going to be the theme of my Raya looks this year.
I'm not going to reveal much lah as usual sebab takut ada last minute changes kan but the theme is 'Bending'. Interpret it how you want but that's the theme this year lah. The colors I'm looking at now are Green, Yellow, and probably Black. I mean Black is the color you can wear anytime, anywhere all at once right? So you can never go wrong with Black.
Now I'm let me explain sikit about the theme. Ever since the first year, I started making my baju raya, my only motivation is not wanting to look like everyone else. Plus why do only the girls yang get to wear so many different styles of baju raya and be glam kan? I mean yes baju melayu is what we guys normally wear for Raya but Raya is not about just baju melayu right? I'm not here untuk tukar tradisi lah eh, I'm here to make it a point that Raya should be the time for you to wear something new, nice, and clean. That could be baju melayu or anything that fits the description betul tak?
Plus, that is why I always call it Baju Raya so people won't be tripping and saying that I'm trying to change Baju Melayu. No! That's not the T and y'all know it because Baju Raya doesn't equal Baju Melayu.
