McDonald’s Mala Chicken: Is This Their Best Seasonal Menu Yet? 🌶️🔥
If you know me, you know I’m a sucker for McDonald's Malaysia seasonal menus. But the new Ayam Goreng McD Mala? Honestly, I think we have a winner. I’m calling it now: compared to every other seasonal fried chicken we’ve had lately, this is easily the most delicious one I’ve ever tasted.
Saucy > Dusty
The first thing that won me over was the texture. I’ve always been a fan of fried chicken coated in actual sauce rather than just having seasoning powder dusted over it. There’s just something about that glossy, sticky coating that makes every bite feel so much more indulgent.
Flavor Over Pure Heat
Now, let’s talk about that "orange sauce." It’s a game-changer. It’s made with Sichuan pepper, which gives you that signature "mala" numbing sensation (málà), but it’s balanced out by a hint of citrusy orange.
The best part? It’s not just "spicy for the sake of being spicy." It actually has a deep, complex flavor. You get the kick, but you also get to enjoy the taste of the chicken.
The Dessert: Deluxe Sundae Pulut Mangga 🥭
Of course, I couldn't leave without trying the new dessert. After the success of the Sundae Pulut Hitam, I had high hopes for the Deluxe Sundae Pulut Mangga.
Flavor-wise? It’s great. The combination of vanilla soft serve and mango is classic. My only gripe was the texture of the pulut (glutinous rice). It was a bit hard to chew, which was a struggle, though let’s be real—any cold pulut is going to be a bit tough. Still, it’s a solid treat to cool down your palate after all that Mala heat.
Final Thoughts & Future Wishes
Overall, I’m really vibing with this menu. If I could make one request to McD, it would be this: please bring back the Bubur Cha Cha Pie flavor but in a sundae form! Can you imagine? That would be an absolute hit.
Have you guys tried the Ayam Goreng McD Mala yet? Did you love the numbing sensation, or was it too much? Let me know in the comments! 👇
