Foodgasm: HaRoy
Whenever I make my way to Thailand, "Pulut Ayam" is an absolute must-have for me. I’ve tried a few versions around KL, and while the general taste is usually there, what always sets them apart is the fried chicken. It’s hard to replicate that authentic southern Thai crunch.
So, when Haroy finally opened its doors here, I knew I had to go.
Starting with the positives: the food is great. It’s absolutely delicious, and I honestly couldn't get enough of the fried chicken paired with the crunchy fried shallots. If you order the Khao Mok, you won't be disappointed either, it’s incredibly fragrant and packed with flavor.
The only real downside for me is the pricing. It’s definitely on the pricier side for street-food-style items. But look, if budget isn't an issue for you, this is 100% the spot to fix your cravings.
They also have some pretty unique menu items I noticed, like a wrap that swaps out standard flatbread for sticky rice, with fillings ranging from fried chicken to pad kra pao. I didn't get to try those this time, but they are definitely on my list for the next round.
Overall Rating: 6/10 (Taking into account the taste, menu variety, vibe, and that steeper price point!)
