Foodgasm: KLCG Chef's Steak Focaccia Sandwich

I honestly can’t remember when I first discovered focaccia, but once it entered my life… it never left. There’s just something about it. That slightly chewy texture with crispy, crunchy edges? It low-key reminds me of an English muffin, but richer, oilier, and honestly more indulgent.


A few weeks ago, Feyy and I went to KLCG in Ampang, and as usual, I had no idea what I wanted to eat. I was scanning through the menu aimlessly when this one item caught my eye — the Chef’s Steak Focaccia Sandwich. One look at it and I already knew… this was the one.


And surprise, surprise — it was delicious.


The sandwich was rich, flavourful, and that focaccia? Soaked with the steak’s juices in the best possible way. Every bite felt indulgent, comforting, and deeply satisfying. That combination of juicy steak and soft-yet-crispy focaccia is truly elite behaviour.


My only complaint? The portion was too small for me. Like… blink and it’s gone small. Even the table next to us ordered the same sandwich (among many other things), but they didn’t eat it while it was hot — and honestly, that made me a little sad for them. A focaccia sandwich deserves to be eaten fresh and warm. Period.


Ever since that day, this sandwich has been living rent-free in my head. I can already see myself coming back for seconds… thirds… fourths… however many times it takes until I’m satisfied. I don’t know when, but I need it again. Pronto.


If you love focaccia, steak, or just really good sandwiches — this one deserves a spot on your food list.
