McDonald’s Foldover Is Back – A Ramadan Favourite I Keep Coming Back To
When it comes to seasonal fast food menus in Malaysia, McDonald's definitely knows how to keep traditions alive. If Chinese New Year means the famous Prosperity Burger, then Ramadan usually signals the return of another fan favourite — the Foldover.
And honestly, this is one seasonal menu I always look forward to.
Beef Foldover Is Still the Best Choice
Ever since the Foldover was first introduced years ago, my go-to has always been the Beef Foldover. I’ve tried the chicken version before, but I don’t know… it just doesn’t hit the same way.
The beef version feels more balanced. You get the savoury beef paired with fresh vegetables wrapped in that soft flatbread, and then there’s the sauce — which, in my opinion, is the real star of the show.
The sauce has this tangy and slightly sweet flavour that works really well with the beef and the crunchy veggies. Every bite just feels satisfying without being overly heavy.
Low-Key One of the “Healthier” McD Meals?
Okay, let’s not pretend anything at McDonald’s is exactly health food. But compared to a lot of their other menu items, the Foldover does feel like one of the lighter options.
It actually has a good amount of vegetables inside — lettuce, tomatoes, onions — which gives it that fresh crunch. To me, it’s probably one of the “healthiest” meals you can get at McDonald’s, right after the classic Big N' Tasty.
Of course, it’s still fast food. But at least it feels a little less guilty.
A Ramadan Classic
At this point, the Foldover has become a Ramadan staple for many of us. It’s one of those seasonal items that people look forward to every year, and once it’s gone, you kind of miss it.
For me, it’s simple: if the Foldover is on the menu, I’m ordering the Beef Foldover.
