Foodgasm: McDonald's Ninja Wasabi Burger

McDonald's Ninja Wasabi Burger Review: Did McD Just Drop Their Best Seasonal Burger?
We all know and love the iconic Samurai Burger that makes its grand entrance every year with that juicy patty drenched in sweet, savory teriyaki sauce is a classic crowd favorite. But this time around, McDonald’s brought out a brand new companion to the table: the Ninja Wasabi Burger.
As the name suggests, it pairs a Wasabi Shoyu sauce with a Chicken Katsu patty. I have to give serious props to McD for going all-in on this Japanese theme. They didn't just slap the Wasabi Shoyu sauce onto a standard McChicken patty and call it a day; they actually used a proper Chicken Katsu patty that turned out incredibly juicy and tender.
Honestly, I loved this burger! What surprised me most was how hard the wasabi actually hits. It’s got a genuine clearance-of-the-sinuses kick and honestly, I think it might even be stronger than the usual wasabi served at most sushi spots? I don’t eat sushi with wasabi very often, so tell me if I'm wrong, but this one definitely packs a punch. I’m definitely grabbing another one before it leaves the menu!
The Limited-Time Sidekicks: Taro Pie & Strawberry Matcha Deluxe Sundae
You can't do a seasonal McD run without trying the limited-time desserts, so naturally, I had to load up on the rest of the lineup:
Taro Pie: This one was really good, but it instantly triggered a wave of nostalgia. It tastes almost identical to the Cha Cha Pie McD had about 10 years ago! Since taro is the main ingredient in Bubur Cha Cha anyway, the flavor profile makes total sense. It’s warm, sweet, and super comforting.
Strawberry Matcha Deluxe Sundae: A total winner in my book! The matcha flavor is pleasantly subtle, not overly bitter and it comes with crunchy matcha crackers that give you an amazing contrast in textures. Plus, it includes two soft red bean mochis tucked inside, which makes it feel like a real elevated treat.
Final Verdict
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed everything I ordered from this seasonal lineup. From the juicy, fiery kick of the Ninja Wasabi Burger to the nostalgic sweets, McDonald's really delivered this time around.
Overall Rating: 8 / 10 ⭐️
If you're a fan of Japanese flavors or just love a good spice kick that isn't standard chili, you should definitely give the Ninja Wasabi Burger a try!
