Nestled conveniently near my workplace, Yalo Yalo Yums caught my attention for its cozy, homely ambiance—a perfect spot to unwind after a busy day. I recently stopped by with Feyy, eager to try their much-talked-about Nasi Lemak, and the experience did not disappoint.
Food That Warms the Heart
I ordered the Nasi Lemak Rendang Daging paired with a refreshing Jackfruit Milk, while Feyy opted for the classic Nasi Lemak Biasa with tea. To cap off the meal, we shared a Philippines-inspired dessert.
The Nasi Lemak was a delight! The rice was perfectly lemak (rich with coconut milk), and I particularly loved the addition of kangkung—a rare but welcome touch. The sambal selection stood out; they served two kinds: a classic sambal and a flavorful Nyonya sambal, both of which were delicious. While the portion initially seemed small, it turned out to be surprisingly filling.
The dessert, with its unique taste, was a highlight, but I do wish it had been served in a bowl instead of a cup for easier enjoyment.
Service That Makes You Smile
The staff at Yalo Yalo Yums were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the experience even more enjoyable.
Great Value for Money
Considering the quality of the food and the overall experience, the pricing felt just right. As a bonus, I received a complimentary Mango Salad for spending over RM60, and it was tangy, fresh, and flavorful—a nice surprise!
Room for Improvement
While I loved the dessert’s taste, a slight change in presentation would elevate the experience. Other than that, there’s little to fault.
Final Thoughts
Yalo Yalo Yums is a must-visit for Nasi Lemak enthusiasts, especially those looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a meal. I’d recommend it wholeheartedly, especially for the flavorful sambals and unique dessert offerings. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!
