One Of The Hardest Thing To Do!

Turning 30 is supposed to be fun, right? But for me, it wasn’t quite the celebration I had imagined. I found myself constantly sick, gaining weight, and when I looked in the mirror, I didn’t recognize the person staring back. I knew that if I didn’t make a change now, I wouldn’t like where I’d end up by the time I reached 40. It was a wake-up call, and I decided it was time to commit to living a healthier lifestyle. But let me tell you, it’s been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.


The Biggest Challenge: Food

The struggle with food is real. We all know that eating healthy is important, but no one talks about how expensive it can be. As someone who doesn’t have a lot of financial wiggle room, trying to stick to a healthy diet sometimes feels impossible. And honestly, I haven’t found a perfect solution yet. Instead, I compensate by spending more time in the gym. Is it ideal? Probably not. But it’s the only way I’ve managed to keep up with my goals without breaking the bank on organic vegetables and fancy supplements.


Balancing Work and Health: Easier Said Than Done

This is where things get tricky. I work in social media and marketing for a fitness studio, so you’d think I’d have this whole “healthy lifestyle” thing figured out by now. I spend my days promoting health and fitness, reading and preaching about the importance of staying active. But when it’s time for me to actually walk the talk, I often find myself completely drained—physically and mentally. It’s hard to push yourself to the gym when your body is begging for a nap instead.


There are days when I manage to push through and get a workout in, but more often than not, I find myself crashing into bed. It’s a constant tug-of-war between what I know I should do and what my exhausted body is telling me to do. I’m still trying to figure out how to balance it all, but at least I’m aware that I need to.


The One Habit That’s Made a Difference

One thing I’ve managed to do consistently is working out before I start my workday. Since my office is in a gym, I’ve started coming in an hour earlier than my shift to squeeze in a workout. I’ve found that this is the only way I can stick to my fitness goals—because if I wait until after work, my bed wins every single time.


This small habit has made a huge difference in my consistency. I know that by the end of the day, I’ll be too tired to exercise, so I prioritize my workouts first thing in the morning. It’s not always easy, but it’s become something I can rely on to keep me moving forward.


Take It Slow—And At Your Own Pace

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that everyone’s journey is different. My best advice to anyone starting their own health journey is to take it slow and do it at your own pace. It doesn’t matter if you work out every day or once a week. Just do something. Eventually, you’ll get used to it, and it will become a part of your routine without you even realizing it.


Committing to a healthy lifestyle isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. There are days when I feel like I’m failing, but I’ve come to realize that it’s about progress, not perfection. It’s a journey, and I’m still on mine—but I’m committed to seeing it through, one step at a time.
