RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 18 Episode 8 Recap

Snatch Game of Love Island + 80s Runway Fantasy

After Vita’s elimination, the werk room felt shaken. And honestly? This season still feels like anyone’s game — but with a few very clear frontrunners pulling ahead. There are queens who’ve been consistently safe or high… and I genuinely don’t know what they need to do to finally grab a win.

Maxi Challenge: Snatch Game of Love Island

This week, RuPaul’s Drag Race gives us the classic Snatch Game — but with a twist.

It’s Snatch Game of Love Island.

Celebrity impersonation meets chaotic dating show energy.

During the walkthrough, most queens were confident — except the Dion sisters. Athena originally wanted to do Charlie Chaplin, Mia floated Big Ang, and Juicy was debating between Ugly Betty and Sofia Vergara… only to choose something completely different.

The Characters

  • Athena Dion – Greta (Aristotle’s fictional first wife)

  • Darlene Mitchell – Mrs. Claus

  • Discord Addams – The Pope

  • Jane Don’t – Truman Capote

  • Juicy Love Dion – Lesbian JoJo Siwa

  • Kenya Pleaser – Lizzo

  • Mia Starr – Bloody Mary

  • Myki Meeks – Drew Barrymore

  • Nini Coco – David Attenborough

Fictional Characters on Snatch Game — Cheat Code?

Let’s pause here.

Snatch Game is technically about celebrity impersonation, but we’ve seen queens try fictional or fully made-up characters before. It can be a cheat code — because you can bend the rules and invent personality traits.

The only queen who truly cracked that formula and won? **RuPaul’s Drag Race standout Gigi Goode with Maria the Robot.

If you’re going fictional, you better be brilliant. Otherwise, it falls flat.

The Beach Bros

The “Love Island” bachelors were:

Zane Phillips

Froy Gutierrez

Chris Renfro

The first batch of hopefuls:

Greta, Truman Capote, Bloody Mary, Sir David Attenborough & Mrs. Claus.

Standouts:

⭐ Nini Coco – Fully committed. Smart, layered humor.

⭐ Jane Don’t – Sharp and controlled delivery.

Darlene and Athena were fine… but Mia’s Bloody Mary? Painful. It spiraled quickly.

Second batch:

Lizzo, Drew Barrymore, Jojo Siwa & The Pope.

Standouts:

⭐ Discord Addams – Leaned into absurdity.

⭐ Myki Meeks – Strong characterization and consistent jokes.

Kenya and Juicy were… driving the struggle bus.

And in true Love Island fashion?

The beach bros chose each other instead. Romance secured.

Runway: 80’s Ladies

Category: 80’s Ladies.

Before critiques, let’s talk Top 3 looks:

🥇 Juicy Love Dion – Celia Cruz

An homage to Celia Cruz that was chef’s kiss. Big hair, bold energy, full commitment.

🥈 Discord Addams – Reba

She fully embodied Reba McEntire visually. The walk? Still questionable. But the look? Correct.

🥉 Mia Starr – Prince

Okay, technically not an “80s lady,” but the tribute to Prince was iconic.

Guest Judge Moment

This week’s very extra special guest judge was none other than Brooke Shields.

Can we talk about how stunning she looks at 60? Unreal.

Ru even had Brooke walk the runway — and she claimed she’d never done runway before, only print modeling. Icon behavior.

Results

🏆 Winner: Nini Coco

Second win secured. And honestly? Well deserved.

Bottom 2:

Mia Starr

Kenya Pleaser

They lip synced to Head Over Heels by The Go-Go's.

Mia performed well. Kenya missed a few words (again). But ultimately, I think Mia’s elimination was based on her Snatch Game performance — because Bloody Mary was undeniably the worst of the night.

Mia Starr sashayed away.

Final Thoughts

Next week: The Rusical.

And I’m not going to lie… I kind of want to see Darlene finally grab her first win.

Top 4 After Episode 8 (No Changes)

  • Darlene Mitchell

  • Jane Don’t

  • Myki Meeks

  • Nini Coco

They’re still standing strong.

Now tell me —

Are fictional characters fair game for Snatch Game?

And who do you think is taking the Rusical? 🎭✨
