Saturday Style: Men Bags 2.0

There was a time when bags were aggressively gendered.
Men carried briefcases, messengers, or backpacks.
Women carried totes, shoulder bags, and anything remotely “cute.”
Fast forward to today, and that line? Completely erased.
And honestly, we have people like Jacob Elordi to thank for saying, “Fuck that,” and stepping out with bags that don’t care about gender — only style. Suddenly, it feels normal (and right) for men to carry structured totes, soft leather handbags, and pieces once labelled “for women only.”
Because let’s be real — a bag is a bag. If it fits your life, your laptop, your emotional baggage, and your sense of style, it deserves a spot in your wardrobe.
And because of this shift, I’ve officially entered my dreaming-about-a-cute-work-bag era.
Bags I’m Currently Dreaming Of (But Not Buying… Yet)
Marc Jacobs Cargo Tote
I love how unapologetically obvious this bag is. It literally tells you what it is — no explanation needed, no questions asked.
It’s simple, practical, and incredibly evergreen. This is the kind of bag you carry to work, meetings, cafés, and random errands without ever feeling like it’s “too much.” It doesn’t try to be mysterious — it’s confident in its identity, and that’s fashion to me.
It’s giving: I know exactly what I’m carrying and why.
Balenciaga Suede Calfskin Rodeo
Now this bag screams luxury without screaming for attention.
The suede material alone elevates it into that quiet, rich, timeless category. It’s soft, elegant, and feels like something that would age beautifully over time. The design is evergreen — not trendy, not seasonal — the kind of bag you keep for years and still feel good about.
This isn’t a “look at me” bag.
This is a “you’ll notice it if you know fashion” bag.
Burberry Black Sanford Tote Bag
I have a soft spot for big bags. The kind where you can throw everything in — laptop, charger, notebook, water bottle, maybe your entire life — and still walk out the door looking put together.
This one hits all the right notes: classic, structured, timeless. It’s practical without being boring, polished without being stiff. And most importantly, it eliminates the need to carry three or four different bags just to survive a workday.
Function and fashion? We love to see it.
Bags Have No Gender — Only Purpose and Style
What excites me most about this shift is how freeing it feels. Men no longer have to choose bags based on outdated rules — we get to choose based on utility, aesthetics, and personal taste.
Soft leather? Yes.
Structured tote? Absolutely.
Cute but functional bag for work? Sign me up.
The only downside?
The price tags on these designer bags are… unhinged. These are dream bags, vision-board bags, “one day when I feel irresponsible” bags.
But dreaming is part of fashion too.
And who knows — maybe one day, I’ll walk into work with one of these on my arm, living my best unisex-bag life.
