This week, I’ve been listening to Florence + The Machine’s “Dog Days Are Over” on repeat. And honestly? I don’t think there’s a more fitting song for where I am right now.

Yes — the dog days are over. After being unemployed since December, I finally started a new job in 2026. Alhamdulillah. It feels surreal typing that out.

Living off my savings for almost four months last year really took a toll on me — financially and mentally. There were days when I felt stuck, anxious, and constantly questioning myself.
