Lady Gaga Returns to the Big Screen (and the Dance Floor)

When it was announced that a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada was finally happening, the fashion and film worlds held their breath. But for music fans, the real excitement began when Lady Gaga was confirmed not just for a cameo, but as a major contributor to the soundtrack.

Recorded specifically for the 2026 film, "Shape of a Woman" serves as the sonic heartbeat of the movie. While the film captures the high-stakes world of fashion, the song dives deeper, exploring themes of resilience, identity, and the multifaceted nature of femininity. Produced by a powerhouse team including Andrew Watt, Cirkut, and the dark-pop maestro Gesaffelstein, the track blends Gaga’s signature theatrical pop with a sleek, R&B-influenced edge.

It’s more than just a "fashion song"—it’s an anthem for the modern woman navigating a world that constantly tries to redefine her.

My Take: Why "Shape of a Woman" is the Ultimate OST Standout

I have to be honest—the rollout for this soundtrack has been an absolute ride. First, I heard "Runway" by Lady Gaga & Doechii used for the promo, and I was instantly hooked and eating it. The song is pure fashion and felt so on-theme for the movie, reminiscent of how iconic Madonna’s "Vogue" was for the original film.

But then the official soundtrack list dropped, and I saw Gaga actually delivered three new songs: "Runway," "Glamorous Life," and "Shape of a Woman." After seeing the movie, where "Shape of a Woman" is featured in one of the most pivotal scenes, I can confidently say it is hands down the best track on the album.

If I had to rank them, my order of favorites would be:

  1. Shape of a Woman

  2. Glamorous Life

  3. Runway

Don’t get me wrong—"Runway" gives that perfect house and ballroom fashion feel that we all crave. But "Shape of a Woman" is the song that truly captures the essence of the main characters and the emotional weight of the story. It’s been on repeat ever since, and I’m not even sorry about it!
