So, I just found out about Gesaffelstein, and it's all thanks to Lady Gaga. He's working on her upcoming album Mayhem, and he's also featured on a track called KILLAH. I haven't listened to it yet because Mayhem is only dropping this Friday, but after diving into his discography, I just know that track is going to be a total killer—pun intended!
For those who don't know, Gesaffelstein (real name Mike Lévy) is a French music programmer, DJ, songwriter, and producer from Lyon. His name might be new to me, but his work definitely isn't. Turns out, he collaborated with The Weeknd, and I've definitely heard that track playing on the radio before. It's funny how you can be unknowingly vibing to an artist's music and only later connect the dots.
Honestly, I love how Lady Gaga constantly introduces me to incredible musicians through her projects. Whether it's past collaborators like Mark Ronson or new discoveries like Gesaffelstein, she always brings in the best of the best. Mayhem is already shaping up to be a sonic masterpiece, and I can't wait to experience it in full.
In the meantime, you know I'll be having my own little Gesaffelstein-inspired model-esque interlude moment in the shower. The dramatic, cinematic, almost cyberpunk-like energy of his music? Absolutely perfect for that moody, mysterious main character vibe.
