Throwback Thursday: Day Trip To USS

Image of a Sesame Street Immersive Ride in Universal Studio Singapore

Hey there, thrill-seekers and adventure lovers!

Last Saturday started off as one of those slow, lazy days where Feyy and I were just chilling at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, enjoying a laid-back lunch. Out of nowhere, Feyy had this wild idea: "Why don't we drive to Johor Bahru and cross the border to Singapore?" Now, anyone who knows me knows I'm always up for a crazy adventure. If only my wallet was as enthusiastic!

So, we threw caution (and sleep) to the wind, and at the stroke of midnight, we hit the road. We arrived in Johor Bahru around 4 am on Sunday, parked at JBCC, and made our way to the CIQ. By 5 am, we were officially in Singapore, bleary-eyed but buzzing with excitement.

We reached Universal Studios Singapore at 8 am, only to realize our tickets were for a 10 am entry. Oops! But hey, no worries. We spent those two hours snapping photos and soaking in the early morning vibe. Time flew by, and before we knew it, it was 10 am, and the gates opened for us.

What followed was a day of sheer exhilaration and utter exhaustion. We tackled 90% of the attractions, from thrilling roller coasters to immersive shows. And the highlight? We got to watch the Characters Parade, which only happens on Sundays! Talk about perfect timing.

By 8 pm, we were completely spent but utterly satisfied. We navigated our way back to Woodlands, crossed the border to Johor Bahru, and by 10 pm, we were on the road back to KL. We rolled into the city around 1:30 am and, famished, hit up a nearby tom yam shop because, let's be real, eating in Singapore is a wallet-drainer.

Did we have a blast? Absolutely. Did we almost die from exhaustion and my (admittedly questionable) driving? Quite possibly. But it's adventures like these that we'll remember for years to come. I mean, I won't have the energy for these spontaneous escapades forever, so I might as well live it up while I can.

Who knows, maybe one day we'll even do an overnight trip to Bangkok. Then again, Bangkok is way too amazing for a mere pit stop.

For now, I'm still recovering from our whirlwind day trip. But hey, it was totally worth it!

Catch you on the next adventure! and in the meantime checkout some of the pics I've taken.
