Little Monsters, rejoice! The Opera House is back, and the Mayhem Ball has officially begun!
Lady Gaga kicked off her most anticipated Mayhem Ball World Tour last week in Las Vegas, and from the countless clips circulating online, it’s nothing short of spectacular. Fans were understandably anxious when they first heard the Opera House set would return. Memories of the Mayhem Promo Tour and that amazing Gagachella performance made some worry this would be a repeat. But those fears were quickly silenced. This isn’t just a comeback, it’s a reinvention.
The Mayhem Ball takes everything Gaga is known for and turns it up to eleven. Visually stunning, emotionally raw, and sonically unforgettable, the show blends the theatrical elements of the Opera House with a turbo-charged setlist that includes fan favorites from across her entire discography, yes, even ARTPOP. I legit got goosebumps when she performed "Aura" and "Applause" live for the first time in nearly a decade. The real kicker? "Summerboy" finally made it to a tour setlist. After almost 20 years, it was about time!
And to top it off, LoveDrug from the Mayhem album made its live debut, a moment many of us have been dying to witness. Now all we need is "Don’t Call Tonight", and the circle will be complete.
What makes this Ball even more special is the surprise song segment at the end of each show. So far, each surprise track has been from ARTPOP, leading to renewed excitement around a possible ARTPOP II, and yes, hope is alive again for a proper Telephone sequel.
If there’s one show to catch this year (or next), it’s the Mayhem Ball. Personally, I’m eyeing Japan next year. Here’s hoping the stars align and I get to see the Queen again in all her glory.
