Tuesday Tech: Apple September Event Highlights

Last week on September 9th (September 10th Malaysia time), Apple held its annual September Event and, as always, the internet was buzzing. The spotlight was, of course, on the brand-new iPhone 17 series, but Apple also unveiled the Apple Watch Series 11 and the AirPods Pro 3.

This year, Apple made a bold move by ditching the non-Pro Plus model and introducing a brand-new addition to the family: the iPhone 17 Air. That means the 2025 lineup consists of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. What’s interesting is that all but the base iPhone 17 come with a refreshed design.

Now, I can’t decide if I love or dislike the new look just yet, but one thing I always admire about Apple is its ability to sell. Every September, I find myself saying the same thing: Apple knows how to put on a show. People are flocking online praising the new iPhone 17 Pro’s design, and funnily enough, the single-camera iPhone 17 Air has become one of the most talked-about releases this year.

Honestly, I also enjoy Apple’s product ads. They’re always fun, sleek, and exciting to watch, even if the features aren’t entirely groundbreaking. Many of the tech and functions introduced this year aren’t exactly new to the smartphone world, but the Apple touch makes people fall in love with them all over again. And judging from the online buzz, people seem pretty happy they’ve finally made their way into the iPhone lineup.
