We’re getting closer to the end, and yet—no girl group challenge? That’s a bit unexpected, but okay! This week, the queens were tasked with overacting in Matthews vs The Ducks, a performance inspired by Truman Capote vs The Swans. Once again, the queens had to pick their own roles, leading to yet another round of role-related drama. This time, the tug-of-war was between Suzie and Jewels, echoing previous conflicts—Suzie vs Acacia and Jewels vs Kori during the rusical. Unlike last time, however, Jewels managed to secure the role she wanted.
The queens were paired up as follows:
Lana Ja'Rae & Onya Nurve
Lydia B Kollins & Sam Star
Suzie Toots & Lexi Love
Jewels Sparkles had a solo monologue
Surprisingly, no one truly flopped in the challenge. With just seven queens left, the judges had to be extra nitpicky in their critiques.
Runway: Black and White Ball
This week’s runway theme was Black and White Ball, and the queens brought some stunning monochromatic eleganza! Here are my top three looks:
Jewels Sparkles – A fashion sketch brought to life, giving pure chic and avant-garde realness.
Suzie Toots – Her Egyptian cat-inspired look could have been an all-time favorite if the fringe dress had been more cinched.
Sam Star – As always, Sam delivered a clean, polished look, and this was no exception.
Challenge Winner & Bottom Two
Onya Nurve took the win this week, making her the first queen of the season to snatch three victories. A well-deserved win!
Meanwhile, the bottom two were Lana Ja'Rae and Lydia B Kollins. Neither did horribly, but when the competition is this tight, small missteps can land a queen in danger.
Lip Sync for Your Life
The bottom two queens lip-synced to “Unholy” by Sam Smith. Honestly, this wasn’t the best song choice for a lip sync battle, but it is what it is. Unfortunately for Lydia, her big stunt backfired, and she was eliminated, finishing in 7th place.
Next Week: Solo Monologues?!
Next week’s challenge will have the queens performing solo monologues. Could this be a first for Drag Race? With only six queens left, we’re getting closer to the finale.
P.S.: Wait… are we getting a Lip Sync Lalaparuza this season or not? 👀
