The new year is often a time of hope and fresh beginnings, but for me, it has started with a heartbreaking revelation. Someone dear to me has been diagnosed with leukemia. The doctor shared that this condition has been present for a very long time, but with age, it has worsened.

When I first heard the diagnosis, I felt an overwhelming wave of emotions: sadness, fear, and helplessness. It’s a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the reality that no amount of preparation will ever make us ready to say goodbye to the ones we love. I know that someday the inevitable will come, but I’m not ready for that day, and I don’t think I ever will be.

I’ve been reflecting a lot since receiving this news. Life has a way of humbling us and making us realize what truly matters. Right now, my priority is to cherish every moment, to make them feel loved, happy, and proud of me with whatever time we have left together.

If you’re reading this, I humbly ask for your prayers for their wellbeing. Pray for their strength, for peace, and for moments of joy amidst this challenging journey. And if you have someone dear to you, hold them close, remind them how much they mean to you, and never take the time you have together for granted.

As I navigate this difficult time, I’m holding on to faith and hope, trusting that there is a greater plan even in the midst of heartbreak. May we all find the strength to face whatever life brings and the courage to treasure the ones we love while we can.
