I’ve been writing online for the longest time, from blog posts to random thoughts I occasionally pour out here. But recently, I decided to take my journaling offline.

It all started when Feyy told me he’d begun journaling and invited me to join a “journal jam” with his boss and his boss’s friend. So off we went to this cozy little journal jam session at Starhill Gallery in Bukit Bintang, and honestly, I instantly fell in love.

There’s just something magical about putting pen (or glue) to paper. There are so many types of journaling, from bullet journaling for productivity, to art journaling for expression, to junk journaling, which is what I’m currently obsessed with.

Junk journaling, for me, feels like creative therapy. It’s how I get to make something beautiful (at least in my eyes) out of what others might discard. Things like paper scraps, receipts, packaging, and even tags. I realized that I have this odd attachment to the little things I buy; every paper bag, every receipt, every small item carries a story. Instead of hoarding them in a box somewhere, I thought, why not preserve them in a book? That way, I can relive those moments through both visuals and words.

So yeah, that’s how I fell into the journaling rabbit hole.

What about you? Have you started journaling yet? Or are you still thinking about it? Trust me, once you start, you’ll find it’s one of the most calming ways to slow down and reconnect with yourself.
