This week started with the realization of Silky is actually not as good of a lipsyncer she claimed to be. Well at least that's what Akeria was wondering after last week's "MEH" reaction bu RuPaul. The top 5 girls seem to be all well now and Silky said that she wants to get to know Yvie better and what not and it seems like a happy ending for everyone right? Not!
The biggest challenge is here and now the girls have to prove their worth by writing a sickening solo for Ru's Queen Everywhere song and also learn some killer choreography with Todrick and lastly to record a podcast with Ru and Michelle. I always looking forward to this final challenge because it really shows the queen that is versatile and can do just about anything rather than being a one trick pony.
Spoilers aside, I think my top pick would be Yvie, Brooke and Vanjie. Silky and Akeria both seem a little bit been there done that because they didn't really bring anything different to the stage. After looking at the challenge, I understand why Vanjie is in the bottom because she wasn't really connecting to the camera and her best drag look? She could've done better, I mean she had walked out on the runway with a more interesting dress than that curtain gown.
As for Brooke, it is something predictable and instead of looking like a ballerina, she should've take it up a notch by making it high fashion. Whatever it is, I'm really in love with Yvie's look because she did bring glamour while staying true to her brand which is being "Odd". Now I can really see Yvie win this season because her brand is definitely a breathe of fresh air in the mainstream drag scene. I mean the mainstream drag scene is flooded with pretty drag queens and to have someone like Yvie, it will be the path for other artistic drag queens to come out and shine.
I mean it would be a gag to have a comeback queen to win the whole season right? But there are other queens who performed better! Well at least Vanjie has the most sickening exit as usual. She is funny and loveable and I know she will go far and have bright career after Drag Race!
P/S: Can't wait for the reunion next week and I'm sure it's going to be gagging!
